Frequently Asked Questions

asyulerfaqHere are a few of the more common questions we’ve received regarding our bookkeeping services .  If you have a question not answered here, please send us a note.

“Do I have to come to you, or are you mobile?”

“What is the difference between an accountant and a bookkeeper?”

“How much will it cost?”

“Do you do taxes?”

“What are your payment options?”

“I can find a bookkeeper for $18 an hour.  Why should I pay $30 for your services?”

“Do I have to come to you, or are you mobile?”

We are both mobile and cloud enabled, meaning we can set up your files so that we can access them remotely.  We will need to visit to pick up your paperwork to get it entered (or you can scan it if you prefer), and to walk you through the monthly update.  Pretty much everything else can be done remotely, or we can do it on site at your location.

“What is the difference between an accountant and a bookkeeper?”

Accountants have more extensive training than bookkeepers, and are certified by the CPA governing body.  Accountants working in public practice (i.e. serving the public) stay up to date on the latest business and personal tax changes and strategies.  The owner of Asyuler is a semi-retired CPA who prefers to run the business and let a CPA firm handle the taxes.  We work with your existing accountant/firm, or we can recommend some that we work with.

“How much will it cost?”

Please see the rates page for cost information.

“Do you do taxes?”

We currently work with CPA firms that have tax specialists on staff.   We’ll ensure that your books are set up and maintained to make the work for your accountant/tax specialist as efficient as possible.

Note that we will always review the T1 or T2 tax return to double-check for consistency with the books.

“What are your payment options?”

We currently accept payment via check drawn on your business account, electronic banking transfer, and PayPal.  Visa/MasterCard is also available.

“I can find a bookkeeper for $15 an hour.  Why should I pay $30 for your services?”

It comes down to what you want from your bookkeeper.  If you’re looking for just basic data entry bookkeeping for compliance and a monthly reconciliation,  a basic bookkeeper may work for you.

With Asyuler, you receive the services of a registered CPA, who can provide the information and advice you need to make more money.  Our experience has been that we have been able to point out opportunities to save/earn far more than the incremental cost.
